Play Equipment Providers
Question for teachers, day care and after care providers from school?
What is your policy for a child falling on the playground and not respond immediately? If a child falls on the play equipment (at his back and does not respond immediately), how to react? Or what procedures
If a child falls on your back and does not respond immediately, I would, of course, going to see the child to see if he or she is still breathing. If he or she is not breathing, I want to designate someone to go call 911 and notify the office so that parents could be called, then begin CPR. I would like to appoint someone to clean the area of other children who witnessed the event. Depending on how far the child fell you do not have to move the child (in case of spinal injuries.) If the child is breathing … you can not still want to move the child … depending on the severity of injuries. I definitely need to send or the school nurse or call 911 (again depending on the assessed injury) and make sure that parents were notified.
