Should I do this??

I am a mother of a 10 month old. My husband and I just cant seem to get our head above water financially. I have the opportunity to become a licensed Child Care giver in my home. I would be given all the supplies I need (toys, safety equipment, first aid stuff, cribs, etc.) as well as a few classes on CPR and other necessities. It sounds amazing seeings how I can work yet still be at home with my son. The thing is, Im not sure if I should. Im just so afraid that with other children around (around the same age as my son hopefully) I wont be able to pay enough attention to my own child. I keep thinking things like he is trying to nap while the other kids are playing loud and just small stuff like that. Am I being stupid for thinking this? Should I do this? DO you know of anyone who has run a home based child care with their own children?

My daycare provider has an 11 month old daughter and she recently started out of her home. She said she loves it because her daughter can play with other kids. She has nap time in which all of the kids nap at the same time. She said she had the same worries as you at first but is so happy she went through with it because it has been fun for her and good for her daughter as well. She is still able to give her lots of attention and hold her when she is fussy and so on. I say go for it. If it doesn’t work out you can always call it quits.
