Where can buy used playground equipment?
Our town was destroyed and our school was severely damaged in Rita. The kids will be returning this year in portable buildings…..Johnson Bayou School in Louisiana. Our children have no playground equipment now, and we can’t seem to find financial help. Does anyone know where we might purchase used playground equipment? I’ve heard that items that were torn out of fast food restaurants are for sale, but have found nothing…

Have you tried craigslist or freecycle? You might also try contacting the corporate offices of McDonalds, Burger King and other places that have had such equipment. You also might contact park and recreation departments in cities surrounding your area that weren’t damaged in the hurricanes to see what they have done with their used equipment or if they know where you might get some donated.
