Wooden Play Equipment For Schools

What equipment would I need to play Ice Hockey?
Hey everyone! I’ll be starting to play Midget Hockey for my newly formed school team next year and I’m completely new (as a player) to the game of Ice Hockey. I just want to get ahead and get used to the game first but really I’ll need equipment to start. I can skate perfectly fine although I’ve got a few kinks while skating backwards. My question what equipment would I need to play Non-Contact Midget Hockey? Like a full list of the equipment and stuff would be cool. Also, would you recommend me to get a composite stick or a wooden one since I’m beginning to play and which brands do you recommend? Thanks Peeps!!
And should I go out and buy new equipment (I can’t borrow any, I’ve asked) or should I go and rent some?
The best thing to do is to buy your own equipment. You’ll become used to the feel of it and rented stuff is just plain disgusting. But of course, keep in mind that if buying all of your equipment isn’t in your budget then, by all means, rent some. I would also recommend a wooden stick, even though composite is becoming much more popular nowadays. Buy what feels best in your hands and what feels comfortable to you. Here’s a list of the equipment that you should get:
Ice hockey stick
Ice hockey skates
Helmet
Faceguard or shield
Mouth guard
Shoulder pads
Lower-back padding, which will be attached to the shoulder pads
Elbow pads
Shin pads
Gloves
Girdle
Jersey
Neck guard
Extra laces for your skates
Hockey bag
Hope the list is complete, good luck, and enjoy.
